||‘The Whitechapel Gallery remains an example of how art can add immeasurable value to people’s lives.’ The Economist
Learning plays a key role in our lives and particularly those of children, young people and those communities traditionally excluded from conventional education. The Whitechapel Project will enable the Gallery to dramatically expand its work in this area.
The Whitechapel will also expand its training programmes, annually giving hundreds of artists and creative practitioners professional support to develop their artistic and business practice.
This three-storey facility will include:
- research centre for courses, discussions and workshops for individuals and community groups
- education studios for up to 3,000 school children each year
- galleries for the display of work by education and community workshops
Young people will be involved in the design and programming of the Tower through the Whitechapel’s innovative Youth Council.
The opportunity to make a lasting contribution to community education and the nurturing of creativity is offered through naming the Education and Research Tower.
For more information about these opportunities and the benefits of involvement please contact the Development Team
