||Born in 1901 of a philanthropist’s dream to bring great art to the people of London, access to the arts has been a cornerstone of the Whitechapel’s policy and practice. Through its acclaimed programme of exhibitions, public events, courses and projects the Whitechapel continues to extend social, physical and cultural access to the Gallery. The Whitechapel also supports emerging artists through peer critiques and open portfolio sessions, developing the next generation of artists, today.
As an educational charity the Gallery receives 40% of its annual operating budget from Arts Council, England and relies upon the generosity of supporters to present its programmes.
All donations are applied directly to the exhibition and education programmes. Your contribution will help us continue our work for the next 100 years.
